About the 4K 4Charity Fun Run PDX 2016

The 4K 4Charity Fun Run PDX 2016 celebrates the achievements of the growing technology community in Portland, Oregon and promotes diversity. Fostering wellness and networking in a casual, fun environment, the 4K 4Charity Fun Run PDX 2016 presents corporate and individual participants with an opportunity to give back.

Beneficiaries

All proceeds from run registrations will be donated directly to Rosemary Anderson High School (RAHS), an Opportunities Industrialization Center, Inc. (OIC) community-based alternative high school.

Rosemary Anderson High School (RAHS) is a community-based alternative high school for students who are not succeeding in the public school setting. RAHS provides open-door year round access to the “last chance” to complete a high school education, and is currently achieving a 90% graduation rate amongst students who enroll and attend classes.

Location and Course

The out-and-back course will start at Naito Legacy Fountain under the Burnside Bridge and will follow a fast, flat course along the Willamette River.

Race Day Information

Event day bib pick-up begins at 1:30 pm on the course.

The 4K 4Charity Fun Run will not be officially timed, but a clock will be available at the start and finish line for participants to monitor their running and walking times.

Participants will select their own pacing group:

• Less than 8:00 min/mile
• 8:00 - 10:00 min/mile
• 10:00+ min/mile

After completing the course, participants are invited to celebrate the event at the official 4K 4Charity after-party. The after-party is open to all registrants and will feature snacks, music, a beer garden and a special appearance from Timber Joey!

Secure bag check will be available during the run in a monitored area near the starting line. Volunteers will be stationed at the check-in table, bib pick-up table, bag storage, water stations and at the finish line.
